I've been noticing several streetlights in my area failing I think because of this big heat wave we've been having all summer, is anyone else seeing what I'm seeing? :o
-
I noticed it during the winter here, although I think a few traffic light controllers have over heated (I am seeing more traffic light failures)
-
I have noticed LOTS of dayburners and spent bulbs as well as fried ballasts. Only some. All of them have been Coopers or M-250R2's. :-\

Last winter there was some mysterious streetlight replacement....when the last time I saw them was working fine.....the two important streetlights that got replaced for unknown reasons are a GE M-250R (silver remote PC) and a OV-14B (remote PC).....they worked FINE the last time I saw it right before the BIG BIG BIG blizzard....after that said blizzard...those two were gone, same for a few others...a dayburner GE M-400A1 and a glassless GE M-400A1

Hmm. Seems to be a trend here.......................

I've seen a few LED traffic light modules failed so that only half the module lights here during the summer.
Also, quite a few streetlights here mainly, old Powerlite B2255s and R37s were replaced with OVFs and OVXs :-\ some because they decided to replace the cracked concrete poles and some because of light failures.

I think that this is what is called a streetlighting group replacement. In Israel this is common to replace an entrie group of lanterns in a roads (Including good working old lanterns) with new lanterns (Especially in project of streetlighting improving [For example the Indal 3E International "Aliance" lanterns that were installed by Gaash lighitng in the downtown of Haifa]), to get the same shape of lanterns all over the road.
Blending of various types, shape and light colors of lanterns in roads is much less aesthetic.

Streetlight failures are more common during a change in the seasons when the weather is really hot or really cold all the sudden.
