Title: Street lights I miss
Post by: chapman84 on September 02, 2017, 07:16:01 PM
Mercury vapor street lights, banned from manufacture and import after January 1, 2008 and it's now impossible to find them, even on ebay.

Probe start metal halide street lights. I've never been a big fan of metal halide in general because the fixtures and the bulbs are very expensive and don't last as long as mercury vapor or high pressure sodium lights. However, you could run mercury vapor lamps 175-1000 watts off of probe start metal halide ballasts.

General Electric M-400R2, discontinued by the end of 2015 due to poor sales.

Cooper Lighting OVL, discontinued in March 2014 so Cooper Lighting could promote their LED products.

1000 watt metal halide street lights. As of April 2017, 1000 watt metal halide street lights are no longer available from any of the manufacturers. American Electric discontinued metal halide options for the 327 Series so it's only available in either, 400, 750, or 1000 watt high pressure sodium.
