Title: Filament Construction
Post by: rjluna2 on June 28, 2010, 09:05:12 PM
I remember reading somewhere there are filament construction designated name format.  Is there such a web page for that or a list?  I would like to use it when I post incandescent light bulb.

Here's couple of pages from a GE lamp bulletin that I've found online that might be of some help:

Click on the pictures to view original.

Here's  (http://www.donsbulbs.com/cgi-bin/r/t.pl/library1956lampbulletin.html) a link to the lamp bulletin index.

Here's  (http://www.donsbulbs.com/cgi-bin/r/t.pl/library.html) a link to some more catalogs from the same site where I found the first two pics.

Hope that helps.

Nice picture Joseph! I'd like to add: Double-coiled filament are designated by CC and single coil filament by C. So the C-8 and CC-8 are two different filaments. The C-8 can be found in tubular lamps, such as this one:

The CC-8 is found in most higher wattages GLS lamps:

No problem, and thanks to Vince for adding some more details about filaments construction and some pics.

I also found some more information on  Lamptech  (http://www.lamptech.co.uk/Literature.htm) on lamps too.
