Title: Gaash lighting, Israel probably copied 3 common lanterns
Post by: dor123 on August 26, 2010, 09:47:57 AM
The first: http://www.gaash.com/eng/Media/Uploads/american.pdf , seems to be a copy of some common old cobraheads in the US.
The second: http://www.gaash.com/eng/Media/Uploads/intercity.pdf , seems to be a copy of the GE M-400A3 FCO.
The third: http://www.gaash.com/eng/Media/Uploads/orlite.pdf , is most likely a copy of the european roadlight Vulkan Vulkanlux ASL 150.
All of these lanterns are exported from Israel to worldwide, so if you found modern installations of "Vulkan Vulkanlux ASL 150s" or some modern installations of old cobraheads, they are probably one of these three copies of Gaash lighting, Israel.

Israel is a melting pot, many people there speak almost any language in the world, as well as Hebrew. You can find, off the top of my head, Russian, German, French and polish in addition to English as a home language.

@magslight: Gaash lighting export their lanterns worldwide.
This is a possible reason for the details in multi-language, as well as german.
@SeanB~1: Israel recived new immigrants people from the former USSR (Russians), France, Ethiopia, USA, UK, etc...
And most of the first immigrants before Israel was announced as an independent country are from Germany.
Israel have also arabic settlements and cities (Like Acre/Akko).

@dor123: Gaash made for sure no profit in Germany. In the German web I really have to search and so only direct at Gaash for finding their products.

@Magslight: One possible reason: According to the hebrew wikipedia, the german language is the world's second most spoken language and the most popular foregin language in the internet.
Also the german wikipedia is the world's second largest wikipedia rivaled only by the original english wikipedia.
According to the hebrew wikipedia, german is also spoken outside Europe, in the North America (Including the US) as well as in Japan and the rest Asia (Although i think that the entry have many technical defects, since until now, i didn't knew that german is an international language [Like english]).

@magslight: I don't know, i think there are many defects in the entry in the hebrew wikipedia.
You can read the english entry about the german language in the original and the german Wikipdia and see if it say the same, however even entries in the original Wikipedia can contains defects as well.
