Title: Recall: Lithonia Lighting Quantum® ELM and ELM2 two-light emergency fixture
Post by: LampLover84 on June 17, 2014, 09:14:59 PM
I know a some of the people on this forum like emergency lights and I noticed that there was a recall of the Quantum® ELM and ELM2 (http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2014/Lithonia-Lighting-Recalls-Emergency-Lights/) lighting units so if you have or know someone that has one it is advised to get them checked out and fixed if yours is one of the affected units

Did you happen to take a picture of that? That was one of the reasons for the recall an overheating circuit board.
Luckily it did not catch fire, did the breaker trip and also was this replaced free (Not including labor of course) because of the recall.

What Walgreens doesn't know can't hurt them lol. Warranties are really only for legal reasons. Walgreens is the one who ended up footing the bill for the replacement unit. It's probably already worked into the contract if it was a schedules store maintenance.

No I didn't take a picture
Breaker wasn't tripped either!
No idea at the time it was a warranty issue and honestly Lithonia is rare in walgreens, they stick with cooper for everything, this store was an oddball
New unit is sure-lites XR6C Chicago code

Hmm interesting. The WalMart near me was an oddball. It's the first WalMart in new england. It has 2X F32T8 8ft fixtures with the lamps staggered and the lamps were cool white Alto F32T8s. A couple years ago the store was expanded and a food department was added, which the store previousy did not have. A few of the centers got moved round (bathrooms were relocated, pharmacy was relocated, customer service relocated) but the lights remained. A few months ago they relamped the entire store with 5000K GE EcoLux lamps like other WalMart stores are. The store seems brighter now. Personally I would have used 4X 8ft F32T8 fixtures but whatever...

Also, unlike most other Walmarts, the automatic doors were swinging doors made by Besam. Almost all WalMarts have sliding doors made by Stanley. I dislike one-way sliding doors because people always go through the wrong door because they're too lazy to go through the correct door. With swinging doors you have to go through the right door or else the door won't open and if someone comes the other way you'll get hit in the face (in which case the person whould deseve it for being an idiot since all doors are supposed to be labels with a yellow CAUTION AUTOMATIC DOOR decal and a decal with an arrow on one side with a green border and DO NOT ENTER on the other side.)

Sliding doors let people be lazy and go through the wrong door, which annoys the hell out of me because I'm going into the store and Mr. High-and-Mighty is exiting the store through the entrance door and getting in my way instead of going through the correct door and not being a dumb@ss. :8)
