Alright, updated....I was in a black out until JUST a little over an hour ago!
July 29, 2012 around 10:15 pm during an horrible horrible storm with lightning striking every second (literally) with a while LOTS of wind!!!!!!!!!!!! My lights started to flicker a lot, the preheaters over the desk were going off and on and off (actually they were cycling as of they were strobing) and flickered a bit.....the TV and DVD stayed on unless the power went out for longer than one second, and incandescents were flickering and dipping a lot. We lost power for 15 seconds but got restored itself, and again for 5 seconds.....after that, the lights kept flickering....
Until roughly 10:45 pm the lights was flickering, then suddenly the lights got BRIGHTER and everything went off.....within a few seconds....one of my fluoros made one last flicker.......but we were in a serious blackout!
A LOT of people were totally out!!!!!!!!!!! A mass of my area was totally out in several power grids.....many in BGE and PEPCO (Felipe (FGS was very lucky to still have power, but for him, his luck did NOT last long....it wasn't until just about 35 hours later, his luck was gone, a snagged tree may have snapped the main line of his part of PEPCO, causing a MASS blackout of the area because another friend of mine just about a mile away experienced the exact same thing!))
The next neighborhood to mine with different circuit did not have power at the night of June 30th but got power in the morning of July 1st!
I was still stuck without power but I wasn't home much during the black out! Went to friends places or did different things!
I have slept in the basement most of the blackout night because my bedroom was as high as 95 degrees, (it's been a whomping over 100 degrees here in MD lately!)
Today July 2nd I stayed home, kept myself very busy! Then after a few hours of lot of hard work I did volunteerly in my families yard, I decided to go downstairs where it was cool, all the lights in basement has e switches positioned off, there is a deaf doorbell flasher that will flash rapidly when doorbell rings, or flash once upon bring plugged in or power is restored, I just had laid down at 2:33 and getting ready to just rest and do something.
Exactly about a minute...at 2:34, I saw a flash, just one flash, which came from the strobe light for doorbell for the deaf, I was like "hmmm" then I saw a surge protector LED lights were lit. "POWER IS BACK!!!!!!!"
We had roughly 63 to 64 hours without power!
As of now, I do not know if poor poor FGS has power right now!
