On last nights local news they reported two young women were electrocuted to death trying to aid a motorist who lost control of his car in turn and slammed into a hydrant shearing it off. The car also demolished a early series wired acorn post top. At 4400V @ 6.6A in the water they had no idea what about to happen to them. I never thought about these two utilities being right next to each other and the possible consequences.

:o Ouch! Sorry to hear that they died trying to help the motorist. :( Was the motorist killed as well?

The driver was O.K. It was unfortunate it was evening and street lights were on. The destroyed post top was laying in a puddle next to car.
