Timing of stop light blamed for bottleneck

Bruce Ribner hopes a busy intersection in DeKalb County can be fixed soon.  Ribner said the corner of North Druid Hills Road and Clairmont Road suffers from a poorly timed traffic light.
“Coming north on Clairmont, you rarely wait more than on cycle to go through the intersection, but going south on Clairmont between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., you frequently have to wait four to five cycles,” he said.
He said shortening the left turn signal going north by 10 to 15 seconds a cycle would eliminate the major bottleneck.
We sent his concerns to DeKalb County and media spokesperson Burke Brennan said the county plans to send someone to inspect the location.
