Title: Governmental Waste
Post by: NiMo on February 15, 2013, 09:19:33 PM
Folks, this really gets under my craw.  We hear all the hem and hawing about government needing revenue and all that but this is just a blatant example of waste to the Nth degree.  One of my customers is doing all the relighting at the Niagara Falls Air Force Base (yes, it's a government project), and the contract stipulates that all of the old fixtures must be destroyed!  Bear with me just a second.  I saw the cobraheads and area lights that were pulled down, a mix of Westinghouse TuDors in both OV15 and OV25, Crouse-Hinds OV15s, and American Electric 115s.  Now, what really gets my goat is this.  Many of the "old" fixtures that were pulled were just installed six-frigging-years ago!  That is wasteful to the Nth degree.

That really makes my blood boil too. >:( if they want revenue from the old lights, they could have a public auction where the highest bidder wins or something to that effect. :-\
