OK, so is it a MV or MH ??? :8)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-PHILIPS-175W-MERCURY-VAPOR-MOGUL-BASE-5900K-CLEAR-LIGHT-BULB-/200738182553?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ebced9599#ht_500wt_1156
-
I don't see metal halide listed anywhere on that listing... According to the lumens, it's indeed a merc.
-
@ streetlight98:
Look closely at the pic... It is showing a MH lamp instead of a MV lamp.
-
That looks like an online picture. The lister probably just posted the first pic off google images because there's a company name on the pic so the lister didn't take that picture.
-
Woohoo I just scored a dud westing house BT 25 lamp. :( from this seller
http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-watt-Westinghouse-Lifeguard-Mercury-Lamp-H38-4JA-C-/160780868396?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item256f495b2c
-
That sucks :( I hope you got your money back from the seller or a replacement.
-
@ least i got my money back; got to keep the dud for experments
-
this seller is super crazy a 3,500 buck for a radial wave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Industrial-Antique-vintage-STREET-light-lamp-shade-pole-porcelain-VERY-RARE-/270958179125?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f165db335
-
Hmm. It's in New Bedford, MA. that's about a 30-45 minute drive from my house. Anyways, my best offer: $60 maybe $40 without the arm.
-
Hmm (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Philips-Lifeguard-H39KB-175-Watt-BT-Shaped-Clear-Mercury-Vapor-Lamp-lightbulb-/150805443967?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item231cb4757f) where have I seen that before...
Oh right (http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-8105) on GoL... (http://i560.photobucket.com/albums/ss50/joseph_125ON/Meta/61755ba4.png)

someone stole Darren's pic! :o
-
never touched glass eh? (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sylvania-Mercury-Vapor-Coated-Light-Bulb-175-watts-NEW-never-touched-glass-/150801176559?pt=US_Light_Bulbs&hash=item231c7357ef) Well how was it taken out of the box for the pic? :8)
-
LOL, just be funny might as well dust it for finger prints.
-
Heh, I wonder why people are so afraid of touching HID lamps, this isn't the first time I've seen this before. :P
-
Yeah I've seen it before too. I wouldn't touch it while it's on but I don't have a problem handling it when it's cooled lol. They must be confused with halogen lamps. :8)
-
Or those double ended MH lamps, :P I think you have to handle them like halogens.
-
Oh yeah. I always forget about those lamps. I believe you're correct on that since there is no outer glass. I think it's because the quartz will decompose with contact with skin oils.
-
I saw a double ended MV on eBay once too but it was over a 100. O_o
-
:o Never knew they were made in MV. :D
Anyways check this out: there's no way this is "**BRAND NEW**" but it looks NOS. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Sylvania-Lumalux-LU70-ED-23-5-70-Watt-Clear-High-Pressure-Sodium-Light-Bulb-/160833896008?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2572727e48) It still has the GTE name on the sleeve.
-
Hmm according to here (http://ecc83.hopto.org/site/index.php?sec=lighting&id=sylvaniadates) and using the date code from the description. It looks like the lamp dates to October 1987. Oh and newer 70w Sylvania HPS lamps should use the ET 23.5 shape too. :P
I think that's definitely NOS though :D and it should be a lot better than modern low mercury HPS lamps too.
-
Sweet. :D I hope somebody here gets it. 8)
-
LOL What the Dura last fluorescent lamp? the good stuff (duro-test)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dura-Last-15W18-T8-BIPIN-Fluorescent-Lamps-VL9504-24-/260671301897?pt=US_Light_Bulbs&hash=item3cb1386909

MMM! Vintage Fibreglass (http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-INDUSTRIAL-DURASTAR-AEL-AMERICAN-ELECTRIC-STREET-LAMP-LIGHT-LUMINAIRE-/380461942051?_trksid=p4340.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D1328186046919448125%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D3%26) :D

Cooper With odd NEMA Tag (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221105209887)
This moron's got it all wrong:
"NEW GE STREET LIGHTS
THESE LIGHTS HAVE NEVER BEEN USED"
Well, these are cooper. This dip would know that if he bothered looking at the fixture tag.
Also this dip thinks he can pass off a fixture with a rusty capacitor, a peeling tag, and a LEFTOVER PIECE OF GROUND WIRE as never been used he doesn't deserve his 100% positive feedback. :P >:( :8)
-
Well, want a "vintage" ANTIQUE GE LIGHT BULB? (http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUGE-Vtg-ANTIQUE-Mercury-GE-Light-Bulb-LAMP-JFMAMJJASOND-R175-USA-8-/190719233744?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c67c08ed0) :P :8)
-
It actually does look vintage but it;s not from the 1920's lol.
-
Hmm, I'd guess it looks like it's from the 80s. :P
-
1980's is vintage to me! :P I've never seen that style doughnut ring to hold the arctube support to the glass nipple before...
-
Uh yeah, this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-Flat-Lamp-Ballast-for-Fluorescent-lamp-holders-/261102441596?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3ccaeb147c) is definitely not a ballast.... xD
-
High pressure sodium mercury vapor lamp eh? (http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-Pressure-Sodium-Mercury-Vapor-Bulb-H39KC-T175-DX-/251115339337?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a77a3fe49)
-
O_o a Durotest cleartop! I wonder if all ten of them are Durotest. The price is still pretty good though.
-
i didn't even realize they were duro-test! :o :D I only looked at the description and saw venture...
-
Recognize one of the pictures? (http://www.ebay.com/itm/American-Electric-HPS-street-roadway-security-light-w-photocontrol-lamp-/181065660833?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a285ab9a1)
-
Lol at roadway security light
-
O_O that's Darren's pic! :o
-
I'm guessing he saw it off Google image search or something and added it to his listing. :8)
-
Westinghouse Holophane lamp shade light fixture anyone? here. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Industrial-Holophane-Westinghouse-Lamp-Shade-Light-Fixture-Nice-/130964348680?) Looks like someone hacked a hole into an OV-25 lens and used parts off an old brass chandelier and passed it off as a vintage fixture... It IS made from vintage parts... I'll give them that...
-
I know this is an Amazon listing, but it's still worth a look. (https://www.amazon.com/Lithonia-Lighting-OMHL-50-M6/dp/B007M1SYXA/ref=sr_1_42?keywords=50w+metal+halide&qid=1583058713&sr=8-42)
(https://i.postimg.cc/XNx2JYzR/Amazom.png) (https://i.postimg.cc/fZQ183jR/Amazom.png)
-
Heh, it looks like the arc tube snapped in half.
-
Not only that, but the description is wrong in many ways. Calling the lamp an incandescent, underrating the lumen output, and saying the lamp can be used in 120v fixtures.
