Yahoo - Traffic light camera scam steals your identity

Apparently, there is some scam going on with the traffic light camera posted at Traffic light camera scam steals your identity.  So be wary for phone call posing from a police officer asking for the credit card :o

Anyone who gives credit card numbers over the phone are just asking for trouble. This case or any else.

We do not and will not use red light cameras here. They're scams in themselves. However....the first picture in that article is of Video Detection cameras. Video detection cameras cannot record. The video input is live only.

Normally the bright flash gives a clue.........

But then again those cameras tend to have a very short life here. Most common is the roadside potted palm tree that sends a love note in the post. Some small towns rely on them to generate most of the income.

try this kind of scam....

Even better one I just got another one of - "You have won R950 000 in the Nokia competition, please call { number from competitor's pay as you go network} to claim your prize". Came in just as business hours started, must be a paying business for the nudgie running it.
