i saw this on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GE-Lighting-Solutions-M-400-Induction-Roadway-Luminaire-Gray-NEW-/390436907974?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae7da6bc6
it's $50. it certainly can't really be an induction fixture, can it? the photo it says is a 'stock photo' and doesn't represent the product, so the yellow nema sticker apparently doesn't count.

ah well, apparently it IS legit:

unless i'm misunderstanding the use of the word 'induction', this is the first semi-cutoff (ie: classic cobrahead) induction luminaire i've seen. anybody seen one of these in action? and why aren't these being used? it seems like GE fixtures would be the most popular!

Someone oughta gamble and buy it. If it's HPS 400w you can turn it around and sell for twice or triple the price. Or just keep it in your collection. Hehehe.

i totally would but i don't have the money right now, plus i wouldn't have the first clue how or where to set it up. i'd love to see how it lights up— i've only seen induction fixtures from new manufacturers, and even then only pictures. GE makes pretty solid product, and in the classic cobrahead shape? i want to see this thing lit up. any takers?

I just got a Philips induction assembly. I love it. Check my gallery for pics.

Yeah, someone here should buy it and take some pics of the inside if it is a induction lume, at that price it's even worth it even if it turns out to be a 400w HPS light anyways. I personally can't buy it because of the costs of shipping to Canada but I wonder if anyone here is willing to buy it.

i want to see one side-by-side with a (clear) mercury vapour m-400.
