Joslyn "semi teardrop" luminaire
|
I've had this street light longer than any other in my collection, acquiring it in 1966 from the town dump. (My neighbor and I would buy streetlights still on their mounting arms for fifty cents each, pedal them across town on the handlebars of our bikes, clean them up, install new bulbs and wiring and sell them for $ 7.50. That was a lot of hamburger and root beer money back then.) I hit a pothole and dropped this particular light, shattering the refractor. I saved it and later used it for ranch lighting with an open reflector. In 2010 I found an original Joslyn semi-teardrop refractor so now it's hanging in the collection in its former glory.
