Powerlite Mini Gumball
Here's another style of mini gumball, I've seen this one at night and it uses low wattage MV (looks like 100w or less). You can see the remote ballast strapped on the back of the pole.

Update: this has been identified as a Powerlite mini gumball.

This one also has a steeper glass too! Nice Find Joey!

Thanks, seems the mini gumballs were kinda popular here at one point.

Nice, there are a few of these at our museum, I think there is at least one in storage that may be scraped some time.

Nice! You should try to get them or at least some pics of the lumes, any traffic lights at the museum too?
gailgrove   [Apr 27, 2011 at 07:37 PM]
No traffic lights that I know of, though there is a flashing beacon with a pole, and a LPS sign light laying around, I'll be for sure trying to all of the lights if they go, have you ever been to the museum?

Nope, but sounds like it's a cool place. Next time you're there you should take some pics for us. Very Happy

I'll try to do that, I'll be out there two weekends from now.

very nice pic!...those things look awesome.

Well, since Niall posted a shot of the socket showing that's it's medium base, I'm guessing this one uses 100w medium base mercs then.

Update: this has been replaced with a 30w LED.
streetlight98   [Sep 30, 2017 at 02:08 AM]
Sad I wonder if this could have been 125W Mv? Seems like they were more common in medium base than 100W MV. Too bad it's gone.
joe_347V   [Sep 30, 2017 at 02:57 AM]
I wonder too, it seems Canada had a fair bit of 125w mercs back in the day. Yeah too bad it's gone but at least I can recreate this setup if I ever get a big enough yard lol.
streetlight98   [Sep 30, 2017 at 09:59 PM]
Yeah you just gotta find an awesome mounting arm like this. Cool
joe_347V   [Oct 02, 2017 at 05:59 AM]
Surprisingly on some of the LED retrofitted poles, they kept the awesome looking arm and even the remote ballast but on another pole they ripped everything out and installed a 6' aluminium tapered elliptical arm.
