The capacitors may be on their way out.......

Its possible, I see 1000bulbs.com sells 1KW MH capacitors but I don't think it would be worth it considering the state of this light. BTW the light was not green but the camera rendered it this way.

Well I guess you could always put your Advance 1kw MH ballast in or convert it to 1kw HPS Shocked

I guess I could, the lamp is stuck in the socket and I can't figure out how to get the socket out, the only way to do it would be smashing the lamp which I clearly don't want to do.

Hmm maybe WD40 might get it loose?
gailgrove   [Apr 07, 2011 at 09:50 PM]
Possibly, I've tried to use WD-40 on the socket of my first OV-15 and it didn't work, about a 1/3 of my lights have lamps stuck in the socket, I should ask the utility company, they must know how to.

I had that problem with my 250w MH wallpack. I just lit it up, let the lamp heat up for a bit, and once the glass was cool to the touch (the base still being hot) it unscrewed the lamp. It was still very hard to get out, but it was managable.
Mercuryvapor123   [Apr 08, 2011 at 10:58 AM]
I did the same on my OV-12 let the lamp burn for a bit and cool then spray it with WD-40 now it will still seem tough to get out but gently yet firmly apply unscrewing pressure and it should break free.

I'll try doing that, getting the WD-40 into the socket will be a little hard though as the socket is under the lamp in such a way that you can't even see it.

Is the lamp that green in person? if it's any bit green in person, the cap may be bad, which is explaining why the lamp isn't as bright.

No, was the correct colour.
