Photocontrol Insides
Here's a pic of the insides of two commonly used types of PCs here, the one on the left is a traditional instant response one that's switches the light using a electromagnetic relay that is held open when it detects light. The one on the right is a newer style electronic control that has a built in time delay and I think uses less energy when the contact is open. I was going to include a pic of a thermal PC too but I kinda misplaced my Caster PC...

Interesting, I have opened a few DTL's that I have, they actually have screws on the bottom. I see Jace left his mark on the Lumatrol Rolling Eyes

yes some PCs has screws while others are snap on depending on the brand and model and age

Interesting...The Designer Edge....never seen a PC of that brand and it has cool cursive design too!

I have opened lots of PCs....I have noticed Fisher Pierce PCs from 1993 are slightly different from 1995 ones....

@Niall I think this particular Lumatrol came off the B2255 and is my first electronic PC.

@ Jace I also have a Regent one that looks quite similar to the Designer's edge one.

you said these had an adjustment knob for foot candles. Where is it? Neutral

Well, I guess that it was an adjustment knob for light level and it's the thing on the top left corner of the circuit board that's labeled POT1.

That blue and white plastic thing? Have you adjusted the footcandle setting?

Nice, I have a couple Fisher Pierce's that are electromagnetic relay but the eye is actually on a circuit board that uses a 3 second time delay. Pretty cool looking set up.

Interesting, I didn't know FP made a relay PC with a time delay.

I'll post a pic of the inside.
