Cooper OVH Open.
Here is the insides of it. Still pretty dirty after a cleaning, it was hard to get some of that dirt out of there! xD

Ballast works fine, the housing is in good condition, just a bit rusted.

And before ANYONE says "That's an odd place for the terminal block" I think we get it. xD

The terminal block was originally there.

I dunno what the date is on this fixture, there is a blank next to "Date" on the label but there is numbers "4898" above the blank spot. I wonder if that is the date.

Thats where the terminal block was on the OVG I pulled from a dumster at Dover Electric. Nice fixture.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 07:08 PM]
Do you still have that OVG? I know it's not the OVG sag that you have 100w MV.
Mercuryvapor123   [Oct 24, 2011 at 07:52 PM]
Yes I do but it has no ballast right now I need to put the 50 watt hps I had back in it, originaly it was 250 watt hps but the ballast was dead I guess thats why it was in the dumster.

I need a door for my OVH... The hinge is broken on this fixture. (Just one side) It will hold in.

I wonder where I Could get a door for this. Can you get some pics of your OVG?
Mercuryvapor123   [Oct 24, 2011 at 08:02 PM]
I will get some pics. today just a moment be back with some
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 08:05 PM]
When did you get the light?

As you see in the picture the ballast, capacitor, AND Inner housing is rusted a bit. But at least the ballast still works.

I probably will get a shot comparing this to my OVZ sometime soon. My OVZ is newer than this. And I still dunno the date.
Mercuryvapor123   [Oct 24, 2011 at 08:20 PM]
I'm sorry it's accualy an OVZ TEND to get them confused. I had moved to termanal block from the clamp to the housing. it could accualy be a OVG just switch the lower housing, If you want to see it it's posted now. I got it about 4 years ago.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 08:24 PM]
Actually you would have to switch the reflector too to make an an OVG.

Your OVG has the new hinge design, while your OVZ has the older hinge design. And my OVZ has the new hinge design, while my OVH has the older hinge design. xD

You'r right oh well I already have two OVG's anyhow I do like the look of the OVZ aspecialy with a glass lens.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 08:27 PM]
You have two OVG's? I only see you have a pic of one, do you have any pics of the other OVG?
streetlight98   [Oct 24, 2011 at 09:27 PM]
Ian, just buy epoxy and reform the hinge. If the door still holds shut don't go buying a new one. You cans still use this door. Wink
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 09:30 PM]
My dad uses Expoy mold his figure things. I might be able to use some of his. But how do you know that would work?
Antstar85   [Oct 24, 2011 at 09:39 PM]
does this fixture still have the braket clamp?
Mercuryvapor123   [Oct 24, 2011 at 09:47 PM]
Yes I have two OVGs one is sag glass and the other is flat lens 70 watt HPS but I have a sag lens for it too.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 09:54 PM]
Can you get a pic of that? (If it is a flat glass then it would be OVH.)

And do you mean slipfitter? It's on here. It's just hard to see because the terminal block is mounted on it. xD
streetlight98   [Oct 24, 2011 at 10:25 PM]
@ Ian, It should work. Just let the epoxy harden a week before using the door again. Let's hope for the best.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 10:42 PM]
My dad is gonna help me fix the door. But a week? Epoxy doesn't take a week to cure, it only takes like a few hours.
streetlight98   [Oct 24, 2011 at 11:14 PM]
Oops. Embarrassed I meant day. I don't know what I was thinking. Laughing You want to let it sit overnight so you can be sure that it will properly cure. Make sure the broken part is rough so the epoxy will adhere.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 24, 2011 at 11:20 PM]
You know epoxy doesn't DRY right? It uses chemical reaction to harden.
streetlight98   [Oct 24, 2011 at 11:47 PM]
Yeah. It doesn't cure right away. The longer you let any type of thing like that the better thoguh. If it's not applied right it will snap right off.
