The OVX!!! I got this fixture, didn't have a ballast...so I put a Cooper 150 watt HPS ballast in it...I tried to make it like how it is supposed to be put together...It is not 100% the way the factory does it.... This fixture body is from 1992, the ballast I installed is from 1996 so it is pretty close! Keywords: American_Streetlights

The OVX!!!

This is the lens they use in my area.....but I've seen ones use the same plastic lens as the ones found on OVZs

nice OVX Very Happy we have these in our area in 400W MV , 400W MH some have MV lamps too! we do have a few in 250W HPS and 400W HPSand i know ours have glass refractors or they would be melted.

We dont really have 400 watt HPS OVX ones used in my utility....but we do have 400 watt MV ones though!

Even my state of MD REFUSES to use OVX for 400 watters.....they use them for 250 watters...but if they were to use 400 watt HPS, they would use OVF or GE M-400R3s......Lately I have been seeing AE 125s as 250 watt HPS replacements though!

I don't see much of the OVX, but all of them I see are 400w HPS. I have never seen a OVX with a plastic lens and I don't want to. I'd imagine they're ugly. Can someone take a pic of a OVX using a plastic refractor.

Ian was very very very NICE and UNSELFISH to let Aaron have the OVX.... This is how wonderful and unselfish Ian can be! Let's all give the kudos to Ian for being just a thoughtful person!

That thing is HUGE! There are some of these in HPS FCO here, but only a handful of them that I know of.

Oh it's not that big actually......it's just the angle of the the picture that makes it look big...but its NOT! It's pretty small actually.....

without or with ballast...if with ballast it really really varies....and trust me NOTHING is as heavy as this 45 pound beast!

Now I am glad to have my own OVX. xD I didn't even need this. That's why I decided to give it to Aaron, because he had no cobrahead and even though I had no OVX at the time and didn't think I would get one anytime soon, I just wanted to be nice and care about someone else. xD
