Anyway.. Is this FCO? It looks like it in the reflector but the other bit doesn't

Well you're definitely lucky, when I saw power crews from Allegheny Power replacing all the streetlights in Springdale PA, I wanted to have a light or two so bad but they wouldn't of let me have them unfortunately.
prawnman88   [Jul 11, 2010 at 12:50 AM]
yeah i told the foreman i do not want to get anyone in trouble and he said well i don't think there going to miss one body out of all that we did today. i said well what do they do with the old guys he said they scrap them i had a look of horror on my face lol . Shocked
mercuryvaporrocks   [Jul 11, 2010 at 01:00 AM]
Unfortunately all the utility companies scrap older streelights nowadays, I remember Duquesne Light used to reuse streetlights from the 70's until the late 90's and I noticed they now just started replacing working fixtures too. Sad
LilCinnamon   [Jul 11, 2010 at 01:54 AM]
Why isn't this FCO like the other FCOs?
prawnman88   [Jul 11, 2010 at 02:01 AM]
what do u mean ?
GullWhiz   [Jul 11, 2010 at 02:23 AM]
This is a GE M-400A2 FCO....thats what they use in Arizona anyway....Arizonia is strict in FCO rules...it must be at Zero Degrees NO angle!

I know it looks like a GE M-400A2 but its not...its a FCO..one good easy way to tell at this awkward angle is the fixture opening is perfectly ROUND!
Form109   [Jul 11, 2010 at 03:05 AM]
By Any Chance does is the Crimefighter similar to this...but just with a Bucket Refractor?....im thinking the body style is similar...maybe not.
prawnman88   [Jul 11, 2010 at 03:11 AM]
yeah its mint except the poo covered top lol
icefoglights   [Jul 11, 2010 at 03:31 AM]
The Crimefighter is just a special model of the M250 with a bucket refractor and vertical lamp. The reflector and refractor door are different, but the upper housing is the same.

I would love to have one of these older M250A FCOs with the round opening!
GullWhiz   [Jul 11, 2010 at 05:18 AM]
For your answer for the crimefighter....heres a picture of one opened up

see right here

This is the same for smaller crimefighter fixtures except the opening is rounded instead of NEMA refractor shape....current ones are the GE M-250A2 Crimefighers...the older ones were GE M-250R2 and GE M-250R1....the original MV ones were GE M-250R

Nice find, luckily our old street light contractor did refurbs on all there old lights so they don't get scraped! But the new company scraps everything Rolling Eyes I'm trying to save a Unidoor 400 that just lost its refractor (and I'm sure they won't replace it Sad ) from being scraped then I can just use a 125s refractor on it Smile
prawnman88   [Jul 11, 2010 at 01:47 PM]
yeah sometimes u really have to stalk them Smile
