Nice. Someone is keeping SOX alive Smile
traffic light1   [Apr 03, 2017 at 09:02 AM]
Yes ! Thanks, My best friend is from Denmark so LED is not a choice LOL. SOX is way better than led, more efficient, and has a cool color

From what I've heard SOX is very common over there Smile (although sounds like LED is taking over as well) Sad

I liked the color of SOX ever since the first time I saw it when I was a kid. Even way back then I wanted one.
It'd actually be cool to have a friend from there, especially if they were into lights as well...

Yes, Alalacis has a strong hate to LED, He says all the time it is the symbol of fail Confused He is from one of Scandinavias inner cities that is communist controlled (Everything looks 60s and all buildings look like Knight, The building in my pics) so no LED (it is not allowed), SOX only. The project he lived at had halogen.

Update: Just told the light on the right has to come down, They want a Greek style 90w SOX
xmaslightguy   [Apr 04, 2017 at 11:55 PM]
LED not allowed? is that an actual law they have there? Shocked
I would assume there's probably still allot on neat old fluorescents around inside buildings then too?

So they are going to make you change one SOX light for another just because the fixture isn't the right style .wow.
Strict rules... is that a city thing or from the building's management/owners?
traffic light1   [Apr 05, 2017 at 10:51 AM]
Without getting to political, they will just smash any LED fixture in cities they control. Yes lots of t10 and 12 he said. Yes the building complex has strict rules, I this case I am not too upset because I get to put up a 90w one to replace the 55. When all done it will look just like the SOX fixture to the far left.

Hmmm... I might know where I want to move. Do they allow metal halide and other HID technologies?
traffic light1   [Apr 05, 2017 at 05:48 PM]
I will ask Alalacis, I know the have some MV fixtures.
xmaslightguy   [Apr 07, 2017 at 01:32 AM]
@traffic light1:
Yep.. If anything changing to the 90w is just an upgrade Smile
And wow Shocked that they will smash LED fixtures.
Not really much of a fan of LEDs anyway, but being that controlling sounds like a scary place to live in general (or even visit)
traffic light1   [Apr 07, 2017 at 11:07 AM]
Yes yes

I agree, if they're that controlling about something like what light source to use I can imagine they would be as equally controlling about other things. Sounds like a bad place to live IMO.

I'm not that big of a LED fan but banning and smashing them is just as bad as banning incandescent and MV.
