GEsoftwhite100watts   [Dec 02, 2012 at 06:25 PM]
I see the plug just WAITING for an extension cord!
traffic light1   [Dec 02, 2012 at 09:09 PM]
It is only 1 out of 6 that i will put in and is 1000w mh [1000ft from the home]. Shocked
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Dec 02, 2012 at 09:13 PM]
COOL!
streetlight98   [Dec 02, 2012 at 10:32 PM]
I'd be careful with using an extension cord with this light. If it's a thousand feet from your home and the lamp is 1000W (plus ballast losses) you may run into trouble with the voltage dropping and the cord overheating. Shocked
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Dec 02, 2012 at 10:38 PM]
If it was a 15A rated (1875w) cord (ten 100 foot cords connected together) it should be fine...but there's the voltage drop issue.

Code doesn't allow you to connect more than one extension cord end-to-end. Sad

Older halg. lights that were 100w and was alot of them. Shocked [this is a emergency lighting system]
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Dec 02, 2012 at 11:27 PM]
Emergency lighting for what?
traffic light1   [Dec 02, 2012 at 11:34 PM]
My dads home lot is 13 ac. and next to a trail and people get lost. Shocked this trail is bad I hate it but the state likes it this trail goes around the back of the 13 ac. lot.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Dec 02, 2012 at 11:35 PM]

traffic light1   [Dec 02, 2012 at 11:38 PM]
Not in the summer. I will see as I get the lights in but yes some of the drop offs are 50 to 75ft. but the halog. are
