LED SORTIE Sign
Antique store find. Basically the French version of this. It did need a new battery since the original one was shot, granted I find the lead acids used in emergency fixtures like this tend to go bad after 5-6 years.

This one has a wider housing to maintain the same letter width as the English EXIT signs which I prefer than the ones with the scrunched SORTIE so that it could fit a standard sized housing. Here's the spec sheet for the current model which is similar to mine except the emergency light heads are LED instead of incandescent.

Nice! Never seen one like this, but I agree, looks better than having the lettering scrunched up.

Here in the US the exit signs must have minimum 3/4" wide letter strokes and minimum 6" letter height but I'm not sure if there's a specified width (other than the assumed minimum width for the "I", which would be the 3/4" lol). BTW is it just me or is there more space to the left of the S than there is to the right of the E?

Nice unit, would never meet my code but it is a very cool looking thing. It is so strange how can has 2 different languages, Exit is the international word

Thanks, this is what the version with the scrunched up letters looks like. I suppose the ones used here also have a requirement to have 3/4" wide letter strokes so I noticed the scrunched up one has a similar stoke width but uses a condensed font and a tighter kerning.
