One of many series radial waves in Pasadena, CA south of the Rose Bowl. These have been in use since the 20s or 30s.

Love how the thing is wired. Is it possible that is the original wiring?

Nice Rat Wave....and i bet its the original wiring....Bare Wires (looks like it) dont seem to need replacing all that often.

Some of these are being converted to 120V multiple. Sad At least they ar keeping them incandescent, for now.

I found two that had been converted to multiple on La Loma Road between S. Grand Ave and S. Arroyo Blvd which have compact fluorescent bulbs. Rolling Eyes

There's a third CFL on California Terrace before the intersection with Arbor street but in StreetView, it had an incandescent even though it appeared to be wired as multiple (the rest of the lights on California Terrace were still on a series circuit)
