Preheat ballasts salvaged yesterday
Miles and I picked up preheat ballasts from a place being remodeled in Ventura yesterday. These are the ones I picked up myself, six original Jefferson Tulamp ballasts from c. '47-'48 and four replacement ballasts. From left to right: '70 GE Bonusline, '68 Advances, and '62 Universal. Operating condition is unknown as I type this, but the wires were cut pretty short and the wiring insulation is in horrible condition. I'll have to use some liquid electrical tape before testing them.

how did you ask if you could have some stuff? Were you with a friend also? I am trying to get two posttops (small holophanes) from a old shopping center that already was torn down and they already built new building but not done yet, but they broght down the other 4 posttops already and only left is the two in another enterance.....which is safe....for now....I did make one attempt to ask, but failed....may need a friend with me with more experience in asking...

I was with my friend Miles, we met up with the contractor and the building owner who are both nice. Best that you hook up with the contractor and the owner of the lot. Maybe perhaps Geoff can help.

Why don't you....invite Miles to this website.......and you know how Geoff is.............

Sure, I kept meaning to invite him but keep forgetting! Will invite him when he's available to chat Wink As for the lights, you gotta find the phone number of the property owner and try to call. There are no guarantees you will get what you want, but calling and talking will help increase that chance.

Cool, I like the old Jeffersons, they look like they have the cross section of a HO ballast but have the length of a F40 rapid start.

Yup, the old preheat ballasts of the 40s and 50s were big like that. So far, I tested two of the Jeffersons and they work!
