Oh wow I almost didn't see them. They blend in well with the surroundings. Cool How heavy is a typical 3-section 3M PV signal? I'm guessing a lot more than a typical signal?

65lb

Oh wow. Pretty heavy but I was thinking like 80 pounds lol.

Yes, 3M is the best signal ever the LEDs work very good the incandescent lamps last a long time too they dim at night this helps save lamp life.
LPS is pick'n up speed at my dads building, I have to remove 4 hps 100 wall packs replace 2 with 2 90w LPS and one 18w and the LEDs stopped working because there was a short Mad ALL led street lights are trash, The clear and effective street light is LPS

Yeah dimming would be nice with the LED modules they used on the standard 12" signals. Those green lights are BRIGHT at night. But during the day they're fine. They should have a dimmer or soemthing like the 3M signals have. The only 3Ms I've seen in RI are on West Shore Road near the Benny's and Dave's Marketplace (my dad works at that Dave's) on the way to Oakland Beach and Rocky Point Park. Lots of old MV lights at Rocky Point Park! Very Happy Too bad they're being swallowed up by the overgrowing trees ans weeds.

Your dad's building will be easy to spot at night, just look for the golden LPS light. Smile Too bad the LEDs stopped working. I love the crisp light from LEDs but the technology just hasn't developed enough to be nice and tough like HID, which is a proven technology. I've seen indoor LEDs and they're great but I just dn't think LEDs are fit to replace HID lights. Like you've said, LPS is way more efficient, albeit low CRI. LED is actually about as bright as PSMH or CMH, which are both close to HPS in efficiency (I'd argue that CMH is more efficient than HPS because the high CRI makes CMH look brighter than HPS even though HPS is rated for more lumens).

Are these signals operating? Or are they just for display? That would be realy cool if these all worked. Shocked Very Happy

They signals are on I am just not in the right lane, You can see the red a little bit. They all work off the controller in the black box. Very Happy They work and are just like are real set-up.

Oh yeah i see. I thought it was just the sunlight making the red faintly glow. I don't see a black box in the picture. Is it somehwere else? Or is it in the wooden basket there?
traffic light1   [Jun 27, 2014 at 03:27 PM]
The black box is very far from here, You are right the red does not even look on I will post a photo of it when I am in the right spot to see it.
streetlight98   [Jun 27, 2014 at 03:46 PM]
Ah so does the black box control all your signal set-ups?
traffic light1   [Jun 27, 2014 at 07:14 PM]
Yes

Awesome! Not where you'd expect to find a traffic signal. Maybe you need a "deer crossing" sign and a button they can push with their nose to change the light so they can cross the street safely.
