M-250R1 Ready to light the yard at dusk
175w MV in case anyone forgot :-P lol. I had it mounted on the mast arm stopper so I cheated and made it higher than it's supposed to be able to go lol. I've always done that when I used the M-400, M-250A, or this light outside on the fence. My M-250A is mounted normal on the pole in my yard though (but it's tilted as far as the rocker allows so more light can be thrown forward).

Just a thought, but if it were me I'd leave these up all the time...just only turned on when you need to read a newspaper in the backyard! Laughing

I keep a 100w MV light in my yard just in case I want to read the news at 3:00 AM outside. Razz

Well that's what the 70W PSMH light on the deck and the M-250A hanging off the deck are for. Razz Laughing I wouldn't leave these outside like this for a number of reasons. One is that they're NOS (at least the R1s and the M-400 are). I wouldn't want to take away that cool characteristic since once they are installed they will never be NOS again. Also, they are not mounted securely since they're stuck right into the fence post. Plus the post cap is taken off so the pipe can fill with water which my dad wouldn't like. Then, they're all wired with extension cords. The M-250A is as well but that cord is secured. And lastly I don't want these vandalized or stolen. I'd never leave any lights out overnight unless they were well hidden. I have left the house while repainting a light though (a couple of my fluorescents and the RMA NEMA head have been left out during the day when no one is home while they were drying). I don't live in a bad neighborhood at all, but I just take all the precautions necessary to make sure my lights don't fall into the wrong hands. Razz

Of course I always love to take them out for parties though. Very Happy

Yeah I keep thinking of my rural area...although I did have some stupid little things go missing from my house over the summer while I was gone! Shocked

yeah i live in the more rural side of Cranston but i live in a settled neighborhood with houses on all sides of me. I've never had anything stolen from me but someone peeled the "I" in "TAXI" off on my NO PARKING TAXI STAND sign so it read NO PARKING TAX STAND. Rolling Eyes Honestly the sign is pretty humorous now. I'm surprised the government hasn't set up "Tax Stand" on the roads so when ever you enter a state or even a town you have to pay a "traveling tax" or something lol. Laughing Razz

And no light thrown on the neighbours side! nice seeing how far it can be angled. Watch out, looks like critters or birds can get in under the slipfitter.

@ m@ the other side of the fence that this light was mounted on (so to the right of the pic) is my front yard. The neighboor's house in the background was all nice and bright lol. This was just a one-day set up, it wasn't even up overnight.

Cool. Smile

Thanks. Smile 175W MV is nice and bright. It looks weird angling the light that much but because the light is about 4ft off the ground, it needs to be angled up so the amount of light coverage isn't affected by the low mounting height. And that way less light is "wasted" by shining against the fence since I don't need the fence lit up to see what I'm going when I clean up the halloween display after my brother's party.
