Very nice score Dave! Glad to see it went to a GoL member. I've never seen a clear A23 merc before too.

Very cool! I don't liek medium based lamps too much becuase those stupid mogul to medium adapters always get stuck in the mogul sockets on me. I almost couldn't get an adapter out of my M-250R1. I finally got it out. You need to screw it all the way in for it to make contact yet there's nothing to grab onto to twist it out. I can use the lamp to turn the adapter in but when i try to remove it the lamp unscrews out of the adapter and the adapter stays in the socket. Confused I have one adapter that had an extended neck so i can unscrew it from the mogul socket. I have a bunch of the ones that are too short though and the look just like the one above. Is there some sort of trick to removing these adapters?

I find the adapters tend to get stuck in some mogul sockets for some reason. I have a socket that's like than and the adapter dosen't even make contact too. My way around it was to use a mogul-mogul extender and then the adapter.

Oh and I got the stuck adapter out with some pliers. Make sure you unplug the light first.

Yeah i tried pliers and only ended up breaking some of the ceramic off the adapter. Sad Razz

the same happened to me before, but the one above is an old brass threaded adapter where the top end raises slightly above the top of the socket, plus there are notches so this type is easy to put in and out.

yep my have notches too but the notches break off when you try to use pliers to remove them.

i see well also aluminum based ones are harder to screw in and out than brass.

that explains it... mine are aluminum based...

Sweet lamp! I have two different types of mogul-to-medium adapters and I sometimes struggle with them too. However, I found that with open-shell sockets I can get a good grasp on the ceramic ones that have a protruding rim, and for other sockets, I use the adapter with two recessed indentations - I have a large Crescent wrench that fits the indentations perfectly when set all the way open, and I place it perpendicularly to the socket and twist.
