Rocky Point Park Lights: Westie OV-25 At the Big Arch
The OV-25 has a refractor as shiney as a diamond with no PC. You can sort of see where the PC socket is (a little left of the house side of the refractor). The arch has a WideLite flood on it where the I-beam is.

Rocky Point Park went bankrupt in the 90s. You can read a bit of background on the park's ownership and why it went bankrupt on pages 3-13 in this document.

Not sure why Jace said don't take too much pride. Confused I think Jace meant that you keep the uploads to a minimum per day to let others' pics show up in the front page. Confused
Five stars for this pic BTW. Very Happy

What? Neutral I see what you mean about keeping uploads to a minimum, I'll try to spread out my pics next time. Wink thanks for the 5 stars. Smile

Nice pic! 5 Stars but I can seem to vote anymore. :/

I gave it 5 stars for you. Great photo IMHO as well. Interesting though how the PC's are missing off a lot of these lights - maybe were removed at some point after the park closed to disable them? Though that doesn't make a lot of sense...

They disconnected the power to the lights but I'm pretty sure they would install open caps and not leave the receptacles empty like that. the lights had still operated for about a decade after the park closed. The scarey thing is that NGrid did absolutly NO maintenance to the power lines and poles and the land was always vacant so there was no reason for the park to still have power. Most of the poles have the handholes missing and the wire pulled from them as well. Copper theives are my guess.

UPDATE: This light is no more. Pole and everything, gone. The arch is still there.
