I saw this collection in person, impressive! One of the starters Dimbulb has was made of bakelite, rare! He also has air thermal starters.

Thanx! I actually have a few plastic starters but didn't bother putting them in the pic.
BTW, the bakelite starter Dave was talking about is in the center row 8 from the left.

My grandfather has a huge box of starters for the preheats in his car shop and display case lights for the literally thousands of matchbox cars he owns. He has 7 light up display cases. There are boxes and boxes of vintage NOS matchbox, etc cars piled to the ceiling in his basement. Lots and lots and lots of cars. Shocked He said when (or if) he ever finds the box of starters, he'll show them to me and let me pic out a few. Very Happy i don't have any preheat fixtures to use them with though. i have a preheat ballast assy, but don't have a starter socket. Sad
