GE 175w MV Flood
Another lamp I tested from recent finds, the etch is hard to read but under magnifier it appears to read: HR175RCFL 39-22 and date code 4-9. The phosphor appears to be that of a typical /C lamp as the red band in the spectroscope is broad as opposed to narrow and sharp from a /DX lamp.

Sweet lamp, I use to have a 400w GE but it got broken in a minor. Earthquake a few years back. Lol. Never thought I would say that living here on the east coast.

Ah was it that one that cracked one of the monuments/towers in DC? I had felt that a little bit here too. It was enough to rattle the stuff on my desk shelf but fortunately nothing fell. sorry to hear about the GE flood. Being GE, I suspect it was rather old and any reflector merc is awesome.

Apparently Eye still makes them, but they're expensive! 175W ones aren't much better.

I do believe it was the same. I do slightly remember hearing about a building in dc. I want to say it was early to mid 80's. It def sucked but I've got several much more valuable lamps so if I had to part with one that would have been it. Lol

Ah I see. Yeah it sucks to loose any piece of the collection but I have items that I'd "prefer" to loose over others too.

Yeah same here, I guess for me some more common lamps are more expendable for me too.

Nice GE reflector merc though. I have a couple of Westinghouse and Sylvania ones but they have the phosphor on the front face of the lamp which dosen't look as nifty as this GE.
