The FCO reflector design is also 80s. The very first M250R1 FCOs in the late 70s had smooth reflectors.
GullWhiz   [Nov 09, 2010 at 04:31 PM]
I didn't see many FCOs in MD until roughly 1995......I know a small group of GE M-400A1 FCOs in MD...which I remember seeing way as far back as 1986....but haven't confermed what reflector it has....I always saw it from eye level while traveling past it on a raised road and the fixture was on the lower level...
lite_lover   [Nov 09, 2010 at 07:20 PM]
Hey Jace, the date of the fixture is May 1981.

Nice Very Happy

Darren, can you post a picture of your M-250R2 and this door side-by-side? Are the doors interchangeable?
gailgrove   [Dec 05, 2010 at 10:30 PM]
I would say the doors look interchangeable, and Darren sure is getting alot of picture requests lately Laughing
GullWhiz   [Dec 06, 2010 at 01:45 PM]
As far as I know, they aren't interchangeble.....the latch is slightly different and the front part the rim is smaller.....meaning there's no pointy front, I believe the front area space was elminated on the newer R2
gailgrove   [Dec 06, 2010 at 03:12 PM]
Okay Jace I was just (for some reason) looking at the hinges (which do look interchangeable) So just ignore me saying that Wink

I like how the gasket is on the lense and not the reflector! Interesting design!
streetlight98   [Dec 27, 2010 at 06:05 PM]
Yeah, different.
mercuryvaporrocks   [Dec 27, 2010 at 07:21 PM]
I never knew they made these in 250 watt HPS.
gmercury2000   [Dec 27, 2010 at 08:35 PM]
We have a bunch of these on the Baltimore beltway that the State Highway maintains. They are the drop lense though not FCO
GullWhiz   [Dec 28, 2010 at 12:45 AM]
Yes and the Capital beltway has a lot of L-150s along with some of those GEs
streetlight98   [Dec 28, 2010 at 02:47 PM]
Yeah, in the '77 catalog i have, it doesn't have 250w HPS listed, though 250w MV is
mercuryvaporrocks   [Dec 28, 2010 at 07:10 PM]
I've seen HPS wattages as high as 150 watts.
streetlight98   [Dec 28, 2010 at 08:22 PM]
yep, that's the highest wattage of HPS listed for this and the M-250A in the '77 catalog.

What is the voltage of this ballast? The insides of this look VERY similar to the insides of my M-250 R1 FCO. It also looks like this fixture has a reactor one-coil ballast, like in mine. Mine is wired for 240 volts, and can only be used for 240 volts as there are no single-coil 250w HPS reactor ballasts for 120 volts.
lite_lover   [Oct 27, 2011 at 12:53 AM]
This is also a 240V ballast.
LilCinnamon   [Nov 06, 2011 at 12:55 AM]
Is the socket on this Adjustable? Mine doesn't seem to be.. The socket is just directly screwed onto the reflector with two screws, no brackets or anything.
streetlight98   [Nov 06, 2011 at 01:16 AM]
Wattages under 200 probably had an adjustable socket. See how close the 250w lamp is to the edge of the reflector? There's really no room to adjust it...
