Lite Lover Industries Arm
Here's a bracket that I welded up that looks like a Al-Struct brand pole bracket,I was having difficulties trying to make a bend with my pipe bender,it kept kinking the pipe and I couldn't achieve a nice smooth bend so I settled for a straight arm lol.

Nice! Looking at the bracket design, is the arm adjustable? Looks like a GE 201SA NEMA head arm.

Thanks! Yes the arm is adjustable. Yes with a straight arm it does resemble a GE 201SA arm.

Very nice! I assume welding is a specialty of yours too?

Thanks! Yes welding is a specialty of mine,it would be nice to make a bunch of these brackets and get them galvanized, another option is to make them out of aluminum.

I love aluminum mast arms but they tend to get bent up on the end after a few lights are mounted onto them since I always tighten the bolts too much and bend the pipe lol. Even steel ones bend on me. Shocked Laughing I'd love to make brackets too but my skills are limited. I'm just good at creating arm designs lol. bending a section of 1-1/4" EMT seems doable but I've never welded before so I'd need some practice at it. I've soldered a copper pipe before but that was a few years ago.

LOL I've never even used a soldering iron, much less done any welding! Laughing I've used most "cutting" power tools though... Laughing

Looks good! Looks like it can withstand a heavy light. You should take a picture with something hanging on this!

Thanks! It is pretty strong, sure I will have to take a pic of something hanging off of it.

Very Nice! I tried welding before, pretty hard to make a good weld lol. I thought the bracket looked like some of the ones we used here. Razz

I'm sure I could get two pieces of metal to stick together but it would not be pretty, that's for sure! Laughing I practiced my carpentry skills the last two days on a a little shack to put my generator in and it works but is not pretty...I admittedly "fudged it" in multiple places! Laughing
lite_lover   [Sep 03, 2014 at 06:20 AM]
Thanks Joe! Yeah similar to ones used there and some here. Razz @ Andy : It takes practice welding and you would get the hang of it after awhile. Good to shelter your generator from the elements, make sure the generator has good air circulation inside.

It was sheltered before but was annoyingly close to the house, that was it's second location and anywhere near windows it was really loud. This is the other one without a broken muffler. Only bad thing is I have to walk about 300 feet in rain/snow/cold now in the winter...I want something remote-start! Laughing Laughing
