Looks like the same one I got on eBay a few months ago.

That R indicates the lamp can produce harmful UV radiations if the envelope is shattered. I have a 400W /DX lamp with a T on it instead of the R, the T meaning the lamp shuts off if the bulb shatters.

Yes,I got this on ebay from the same seller.

Looks just like my /DX...but the /N colour is great. I have a pair of Sylvania /N's in the 100w size, one medium & one mogul. Fantastic colour...very close to incandescent or warm CFL.

This lamp was from Colorado I bet, I went and picked mine up from their little shop thing. They are still selling them? O.o I thought I got the last one.

Nice! I have a Philips 250w /N but it's a later one that looks similar to a /DX.

@ Ian, you did get the last one,I got the second from the last one.hehe .I'm just finally uploading it now. Shocked
TiCoune66   [Jul 02, 2012 at 08:42 PM]
And I got the one just before Darren's xD

I wonder what the seller thought when their lamps starting selling like hotcakes. Laughing

The guy who had those MAZDA A-H1s was probably even more surprised xD

cool! i have the same exact lamp from 1990 here. i just love the bright shiney brass base on these!
joe_347V   [Apr 13, 2013 at 03:19 AM]
I have one of these too, a cleartop Canadian /DX NOS from 1981 or so.
streetlight98   [Apr 13, 2013 at 02:48 PM]
does it have the pinkish color when fully lit like modern sylvania lamps? my BT37 lamp from 1990 has the pinkish glow. so i guess even the non-chinese lamps had the pinkish phosphor at one time. The CRI is the best I've ever seen with mercs but the pink color is not something i like very much lol.
lite_lover   [Apr 13, 2013 at 08:53 PM]
This lamp has more of a warm tone rather than a pinkish glow as it's an N lamp.
streetlight98   [Apr 13, 2013 at 10:15 PM]
What's an "N" lamp? Neutral does anyone still make N lamps?
lite_lover   [Apr 13, 2013 at 10:28 PM]
The N is for natural,it has a warmer tone than the DX lamps. Not sure if the N lamps are still being made, maybe EYE Iwasaki has N lamps still available.
streetlight98   [Apr 13, 2013 at 10:33 PM]
ahh sounds like a nice color. How is the CRI? do objects register closer to their true color under the /N phosphor instead of the /DX?
joe_347V   [Apr 13, 2013 at 10:57 PM]
I think Philips still makes a similar lamp to the /N in Europe unless they recently discontinued it.
streetlight98   [Apr 13, 2013 at 11:54 PM]
they don't sell it in NA though?
joe_347V   [Apr 14, 2013 at 01:32 AM]
Sadly they don't, I think Sylvania was the last company here to sell the /N.
