Wait.. They replaced the Mercury Vapor lights of the town I lived in most of my life with LEDs? Shame.. Shame.... I haven't been down there in forever since I moved to Arkansas, but yeah. I need to go down there again at some point. Still shame they replaced them with LED lights. I mean LED lights are nice but the old MV lights were better.

Yep they replaced them, atleast all the ones along 285. I don't know about the side streets though, but I'm going to try to remember to look next time I go up through there.

MV is still my favorite, I remember when everything in & around Denver was MV...then they started switching out to HPS...I guess what I'm seeing is the next generation of that: HPS being switched out for LED
(like going to a store today, I see there's been allot more HPS replaced recently - all probably in the last month or so)
(And on thursday I saw a truck in Littleton working on a streetlight...I assumed just replacing the lamp, but nope turns out, replacing the fixture with a LED one.

Looking back deeper in the town (from 285) today, I still saw bucket lights (no sign of any LEDs) ... So I'm assuming the town is still MV with exception of the highway..

All these lights are GOOOONE. I just went through the old town I lived in three days ago (Monday) and all of the old lights got removed from the median. I noticed they started putting up new CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) lights on the outer roads but they still had the old double guy wire lights up with the LED fixtures, but when I passed by on Monday, they were all taken down, so the lights that were on the median are now gone. I guess they did that in favor for the lights on the metal poles on the edge of the road instead of the wooden poles in the center. I also noticed that when you are going west towards the high school I used to go to (and graduated from - US 285 South, which is heading more West or Southwest) instead of being 2 lanes on that direction they converted one lane to multiple turn lanes for different roads, and it always used to be 2 lanes each direction and now when I came on monday it was different, it threw me off a bit cause I was used to it being 2 lanes cause I used to drive through here 5 days a week to get to school and back. I guess they are doing lots of updates.

No problem!

Yeah, they put up a numch of metal poles on the side of the roads and then they got rid of the wooden poles in the middle, and the turn lanes, it's just different turn lanes that went into various roads in the town, like by the chinese restauraunt (which had good food by the way) and Knotty Pine and the gas station down the road from that.
