New LED's for intersection upgrade Today I watched this LED come up as well as the one on the other side of the street. AE Autobahn LED's . The new pedestrian signals are not using the round piping for mounting but instead using rectangular ones. This is the first signal upgrade intersection here that uses LED streetlights. Hopefully the OVX's on this street get replaced with LED's. There are more intersections nearby that are being replaced this year. Im assuming a similar setup will be used at the other lights. Yep, AEL Autobahn. I actually like these and wouldn't mind seeing them. Definitely prefer them to most other designs out there. There must be a contest to create the world's ugliest street lights for these new LEDs. Rolling Eyes

Im actually pretty satisfied with the LED's that have been used here. So far Ive seen GE Evolve , Cooper NVN, and now the AEL Autobahn here. Not too shabby lol Cool

These were planted in about a day! I share your satisfaction about nice looking LED's being used in our city. Would have been nice to see higher poles to match the rest of the stretch, especially since they went to the effort of isolating the streetlights from the signal pole here.

Looks like the Cooper/AEL war may continue. But Cooper is winning and AEL just entered the battle Razz.

Interesting that they used LED for a signal install. Over here in Markham, they're finishing up refitting the arterial roads to LED but I noticed something interesting, most of the lights on signal poles are still HPS. Maybe caution yellow is making a comeback lol.

This is the first signal upgrade install in the entire city to use LED. I see that in Mississauga too. You can be driving at night and under all the white light and then all of a sudden at the intersection its HPS. Its not the case at all intersections there but a fair amount of them.

the signal pole that was temporarily tilted back so the existing signal can be seen is installed level now. They swung the signal mass arm out of the way instead. Guess a pole leaning on an angle with nuts under the base plate was bothering people, perhaps the public kept reporting it as leaning.

I can't wait to see how these AEL autobahns light this intersection when activated.

Well in the neighbouring city by the airport has gone almost full LED. Heres what used to be all HPS Shoebox's and cobras. all that remains around here is the odd HPS shoebox or Cobra.

I still don't know what exactly the regional road LED fixtures. The Airport is using all GE Evolves!
