Wow even un Komunist Kali eh? Up here is Road I-Land there's a lot of incandescent but LEDs are poping up all over the place in businesses. I think the big reason was that dimmable CFLs were pretty expensive and didn't dim reliably so they stuck with incandescents. Most of the places I go have LED recessed cans now though.

Most commercial places here still use PLs in recessed cans and sometimes MH. LED is rare except in newly remodeled/built places. Incandescent is fairly rare around here too.

HID cans are rare here. In fact, indoor HID is rare period here now except at certain chains like REI, (...)'s Sporting Goods, and Best Buy, which always use highbays/lowbays (at least here). all the supermarkets here have fluorescent highbays now.

Preheat PLs seem to have been common in the 90s around here but any PLs now are HF electronic. I like the preheat PLs but the HF PLs are no better than CFLs to me besides the fact that the lamp can be replaced separete of the ballast.

It seems the 70w MH cans are fairly common here in malls and offices along with the CMH PAR track lights in shops. I still run into vintage 175w and 100w merc cans too but some have really dimmed out lamps.

Not much stores left with HID highbays though, I think Best Buy, older RONA stores and Costco stores are the few that still use them. Back in 2004 almost every big box store had them but most have replaced them with T8 or T5 fixtures. You can tell which stores used to have them as they often left the hooks the highbays hung on on the ceiling.

Don't really mind the electronic PLs since they often have a much better ballast than screw in CFLs but preheat is always good lol.

I really like the old MV/MH recessed cans...I miss seeing them along with 8 foot slimlines too.

i feel the same Andy. my favorite HID recessed cans are the ones with the fresnel glass.

OOOOHHHH those things! I always liked the ones with the clear glass but I like the fresnel ones too...they look kinda cool if they have a "Corkscrew Infestation" IMO...
