2012 FPolc Sun-Tech ELL-124 LED Photocell Got four of these brand new from Ryan (thanks!). The whole photocell is green! Cover, window, and base are all different shades of green. Pretty cool. I really like the green window on the green PC. Looks pretty cool. This doesn't look much different from one of their standard PCs except for the massive MOV on top. Looks like Nilla Wafer (and about the diameter lol). Hopefully these are good quality. I will use one on my Cree BXSPR street light since it didn't come with a PC. The AELs all have DTL LED PCs. The silicon eye is also different. They call it "Bat Eye Technology". It only reacts to sunlight and is immune to LED light. The window can also be pointed in any direction.

Yeah I noticed it was black which I thought was weird. However, my LED flashlight shuts this off. The "LED immune" thing is apparently bogus. Any silicon eye PC can face in any direction AFAIK. The north thing was really only important for CdS eyes and even then it was often ignored.

I personally would prefer facing silicon PCs east to offset the higher turn-off ftc setting. With the eye facing east, it sees the morning light earlier than in any other direction so it's more likely to turn off at a similar light level that it turns on at in the evening. It would turn on earlier in the evening than if faced west but the light is more useful in the evening than early morning IMO. Not nearly as many pedestrians in the early hours of dawn as there are in the evening.

The photocells around here to the public streetlights around here are usually black. I usually thought the black color is usually the most common
