Nice, I'llbet it looks good at night, even if it's old and green.

i just love how it has its individual, tiny 3 KVA power transformer powering it.

I usually see NEMA heads on 24 or 30" arms. It also looks like that transformer is falling off the pole.

Tilted Slightly...but not falling....ive seen some like this with only one bolt holding the transformer to the pole! Shocked
streetlight98   [Aug 31, 2011 at 11:40 PM]
This must be 240v then if this is the only thing powered by the transformer
GullWhiz   [Sep 01, 2011 at 01:25 AM]
The transformer may also have wires going underground
Form109   [Sep 01, 2011 at 12:12 PM]
no there's no wires going underground...the only thing its powering is that one light.

This fixture is wired 120 volts. They are only using 2 of the three legs off the transformer's secondary taps. The two outter taps are each 120 volts giving you 240 volts phase to phase and the ceter tap is your neutral which you can see being connected to the system neutral on the pole.

this fixture is no more....went out about a week ago was replaced soon after.

What was installed in its place?
streetlight98   [Apr 09, 2012 at 09:12 PM]
