i see two wires so i say this one is 120V. i'm not sure what utility this is under though and i don't know when the OVCs were made. If this was made after the late 80s and it's in Mass Electric territory (now NGrid) then it's 120V. I can't speak for Western Utility people though since i forget what Joe M told me about them. NGrid owns them too now so any new lights in that area are 120V too.
it seems Mass Electric used more of the OVCs and OVSs than Narragansett Electric even though they're owned by the same parent company. In the same way MECo used more upsweep arms than NECo. The OVS wasn't used at all in NECo territory to my knowledge and the OVC was used sparingly. Also MECo used 150W and 70W lights which NECo didn't use either. Odd how there are variations between subdivisions of a big company.
Dedham is served by NSTAR but NSTAR does not maintain these streetlights. Most of the streetlights on NSTAR poles are city/town owned and maintained by contractors. This fixture does look to be 120 volts.
Wrong David F, look at this picture (click on it) this picture was taken in Maryland near my house, and was taken by my friend. Maryland is in the USA, look closely at the label...it clearly says "OVC"
OVL = Large
OVM = Medium
OVS = Small
OVC = Compact
David I suggest you start looking at other people's pictures and not only your own pictures and start commenting other people's pictures so you can expand your knowledge and learn more.....sees you are kind of behind the knowledge....
The older ones were OVC while the newer ones are OVZ probably around the time OVX came out.....
