This GE M400 FCO 400w HPS replaced an old ITT/T&B fixture that had a browned-out lens and dim merc in it. Turns out that despite the yellow 400 sticker, it's actually a merc!

My electrical company continued to replace mercs until 2nd quarter of 2008....the last mercs to be was the GE M-400A3 with sag lens (and you could see the coated lamps) and the GE M-250R2s with sag lens and the AE 115 with a sag lens also!

Actually jace we used M400R3's for the 400w mercs! Which was really dumb as the capacitors are horrible so instead of changing a door to upgrade we have to change the whole fixture.

Oh that's right...duh me I keep forgetting! So the GE caps are bad? What about the GE M-400R2s? Also the OVX 400 mercs...how are they treating you?!

The caps in the R3's are a different brand! I'll have to look to remember the brand but their not GE! Yes they are bad, if we get 3-5 yrs out of them were lucky! The R2's hold up pretty well!

How are the OVX 400 watt mercs treating you? I know the ones on 175 and 170 seems to be alright......

Yeah cause I haven't had to mess with any yet! I did work on one but it was refurbished so that don't count Laughing

hmmm Then that explains why I saw a 250 or 400 watt HPS OVX bronze on a fiberglass pole in Columbia....(it had a drop lens too!) on Tamar Drive!
