I encountered one problem with these: Can not be used in lava-lamps, as lava lamps are very sensitive for the power distribution between convected and radiated...
Same wattage (so one step up "equivalent") overheat it (more convected heat), the "equivalent" does no heat enough.
So it would need or an auxiliary heater or a dimmer to tune the exact power necessary for "lava effect".
