The 40A21 ceramic colored GEs have not been around in the US for quite some time (I'm thinking the '80s?). They slowing pared down the offerings to the 25A19s and only red and blue in the 60A21s. Now the 60s have been eliminated.
Ceramic colored incandescents just don't make sense anymore since you get much better color and brightness with colored CFLs (think Feit).
My favorite incandescents are any ceramic coated colors. I just learned that GE has dropped the ceramic 25A19 colors (red, blue, orange, green and yellow). These were some of the last domestically produced ceramic colors available. I just ordered more from Grainger to beef up my stock a little. I just love looking at them and turning them on. Perhaps they bring back memories of my childhood. These bulbs are cousins to the wonderful GE ceramic C-7 and C-9 bulbs and the 10S11 round ones, too! I have many, many pink ceramic bulbs which can be used for ambient lighting.
BTW, for a while, Philips made colored 25A19s and 40A21s in Mexico using an inside powder coating that was nearly identical to the very old Mazda and GE swirled C-9 Christmas lamps. The blue is absolutely stunning -- a deep purplish blue with a cool ring of light near the base where there is no coating. I happened upon them a couple of years ago. I forget where I found them, but I was able to get a very nice guy on the phone and he pulled all of the stock and was able to determine which of the bulbs matched my description. Alas, Philips now produces junk colored lamps made in Asia. They are spray painted and are totally awful.
