You can still SEE the light, it's just much dimmer.
I think they tried to make these modules... more one direction so people won't get confused, that is what the Fresnel Lens does, it magnifies the LED's to be huge, and it ony magnified them when you are looking straight or a little off angle, when you go off angle enough the magnified LED's will not be shown anymore because of the direction.
The LED's aren't that bright, but the Fresnel lens magnifies the LED's to make it seem much brighter, then the diamond pattern lens over it scatters the light which illusions it to look incandescent. But I think what would make these look more incandescent is put a globe around ALL the LED's inside below the Fresnel lens and it will make it look much more incandescent.
