Sweet! Personally I am a Dewalt nut XD.

I haven't decided yet what cordless drill I want to get, I've got a crappy Craftsman but it doesn't have much power and the battery is NiCad. I'm thinking of a drill/impact combo from one of the "big 3".
Here are the kits I'm looking at:
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3
Option 4
Option 5
Option 6
Which do you guys think would be the best? I'm looking more at the 3.0 Ah ones but I also want a hard case which only the Makita has, I'm open to other suggestions as well, money isn't a huge factor, I can easily afford all of those. I also would prefer one that is a hammer drill which some are, but others aren't.

Oh yeah, nice drill. Laughing

I like Dewalt too and I want to get a new drill. I'm looking for an impact/hammer/driver drill or whatever it's called.

I think it all depends on what you are going to use it for. The Dewalt combo (Option 5) is cool though, and it has a hard case and LED lights!

@gailgrove: when it comes to power tools, Makita and Milwaukee are the best, IMO.

Oh yay, this seems to be going the way of one of these forums that I've looked at regarding the topic. I've ruled out the 1.5 Ah kits, I want more power, so I'm only looking at options 2, 4 and 6. I'm leaning more towards the Maktia kit due to the price and since it has a case, however it seems to have less power than the DeWALT or Milwaukee, the LEDs aren't that big a selling feature, even my current drill has one. Another consideration is the ergonomics and weight, the DeWALT drill looks the most comfortable to me, as for weight The Makita is the most at 4.9 lbs, the DeWALT is the second at 3.9 lbs and the Milwaukee is the lightest at 3.5 lbs, I think all of those are lighter than my current one though. I'll have to do more looking at the store and see which feels better.

Older Milwaukee power tools are known to be virtually indestructible. At school we have very old Milwaukee concrete drills that are still going strong, and many students are hard with stuff here! Several of my classmates have Milwaukee drills, they seem to perform very well. Although they have Lithium batteries which die all of a sudden LOL.

My Dewalt drill is rather heavy but I got used to it. I prefer to have something with a bigger battery, gives more power! So go for what will be the most useful for you.

I've now decided one thing, I'm NOT going with Milwaukee! I was using one of their drills in shop class today and almost burnt the thing up! All I was doing was just drilling a 7/8" hole through two 2X4s, not impressive at all, it got very hot and began to make a burning smell, I did eventually get it through but it took about two minutes. I'm now only going to consider DeWALT and Makita.

I like Bosch, the newer ones are much lighter than the old ones ( i have some from the 1980's and a new one bought in 2005) but the oldest drill I have was made by Miller Falls.

Maybe I'll think about Bosch as well, I've heard good things about them too, this looks like a nice kit. I also found this! Shocked
