I like to put different bulbs in random color and manufacture just heck out of it!
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Jan 20, 2013 at 01:00 AM]
Any idea what tubes these were (brand/color?) I think I see a (L-R) warm white GE MainLighter, a cool white Philips, a Grow-Lux, a GE WATT-MISER or Chroma 50, something else (maybe a Philips or and older GE) and a warm white Alto...am I right?
streetlight98   [Jan 20, 2013 at 03:30 PM]
All three ballasts fit? Are the HBF?
xmaslightguy   [Jan 20, 2013 at 05:32 PM]
streetlight98:
Yep all 3 ballasts fit fine, all are HPF

@GEsoftwhite100watts:
You are close...lamps are
GE F40WW .. <a standard warm white, not a mainlighter>
Philips F40/41U (4100k UltraLume)
Penn-Plax FL-40 Aquari-Lux
GE F40C50 (Chroma 50)
(no-name) F40CW (looks Philips made) .. <kinda crazy that it looks more like a daylight in the pic>
Philips Alto F40SPEC35

Cool...still looks very colorful!
streetlight98   [Apr 23, 2013 at 10:02 PM]
can you take a pic of this with the ballast channel off?
rlshieldjr   [Apr 23, 2013 at 10:38 PM]
You can put the ballasts on the back or top add a 7th lamp for a ROY G BIV light Very Happy
xmaslightguy   [Apr 26, 2013 at 12:53 AM]
@Mike: Yep Smile .. the pic is now uploaded here

@rlshieldjr: LOL 7-lamp multicolor! that would be cool Cool (ofcourse I have yet to find a reasonable price on those orange lamps..or a place that sells singles)
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Apr 26, 2013 at 01:11 AM]
As for ROY G BIV...
F40/RED, F40/ORANGE, F40/GO, F40/G, F40/B, F40/BL, F40BL (or Grow-Lux) for violet and Daylight or C50 or C75 for Indigo...
xmaslightguy   [Apr 26, 2013 at 02:36 AM]
On the last 3, I was thinking:
F40/B (Blue)
TL40W/03 (Actinic 03)
F40/Gro (GroLux Standard/Narrow-Spectrum)
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Apr 26, 2013 at 03:05 AM]
Yeah, even as I typed that I was also thinking one of those "Actinic" lamps (you're the only guy I've ever heard of them from I think) and non-wide-spectrum Grow-Lux...
You could also do...
Sylvania "Incandescent Florescent"
Standard halophosphate/PRE-EPACT warm white
3500K
Cool White
Chroma 50
Daylight or Daylight Deluxe
Chroma 75
(and if it was 8-lamp, an 8000K or 10,000K lamp...)
xmaslightguy   [Apr 26, 2013 at 03:50 AM]
Probably the only reason I know about those Actinic lamps is from having fishtanks...

--------
using the various 'whites' like you mention would be sorta like the thing in my current avatar LOL
