Vintage "MCS" CO-002 Metal Power Strip with Surge Protection
Here is a vintage metal power strip under the MCS brand. I think it is from the late 80s. It is the type that has real outlets that can be replaced. This model has six grounded outlets. The outlets are black, and the strip itself is beige. The strip also has a power switch illuminated by a small neon lamp. Unfortunately, the neon is extremely worn out and is comically sputtered. It does not flicker though. On the side of the strip is a 15A resettable circuit breaker. Feeding it all is a 4-ft, 14-gauge power cord by the manufacturer COXOC. The bottom of the strip has two mounting keyholes that allow it to be wall-mounted. Four screws near the bottom allow the strip to be taken apart easily for servicing. This power strip does have some surge suppression to it, but probably not much because IIRC there is only one MOV inside. It claims to have a 400V clamping voltage. Not sure how many joules it would be, but again not much.

This "MCS" brand name seems to be pretty obscure. I have tried searching for this power strip on Google and eBay, including its model number, but I cannot find another example online. I have not seen anything else under the MCS brand name either. MCS is likely just a random company with its name on a generic power strip. All sorts of brand names were put on these generic metal power strips from Taiwan and China in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. MCS is probably just another one of those names, who knows what the actual OEM is? A comment would be greatly appreciated if anybody has any information on this obscure model!
