We have plenty of poles that look worn like this and have black transformers and brown insulators and occassionally the out of service and forgotten glass insulator. i noticed newer poles are taller and thicker than older poles.

He some older neighbourhoods are like that, this is one of them. Most major roads have had their poles upgraded to concrete and other neighbourhoods have underground wires.
