"Bronze Box" Signal Setup
here is what I now like to refer to as the "Bronze Box" signal setup. I first saw this style setup 10 Years ago in downtown dallas and here's one of several in downtown Fort Worth. i'll admit right off the bat im not really digging the style. the bottom half of the pole looks repainted up to a certain height like a lot of the bronze poles downtown, not sure why.

Also - This picture ended up on its side some reason...don't know how that happened...can an admin rotate this pic for me? I tried to and get a error messege.

I recommended that you rotate the picture before you upload it Confused
Form109   [May 30, 2014 at 03:46 PM]
First of all the picture was taken correctly right side up,showed up on the computer correctly and somehow when I uploaded it ended up on it's side for no reason.....think about it why the hell would I upload a picture on it's side? Rolling Eyes

it's just as annoying as that Glitch that causes my comment to appear twice. cant explain it it just happened.

Well the comments appear twice because you hit the OK buttom twice (the system allows double commenting now).

See? you can double comment now lol. But about the pic being rotated, it has something to do with taking pics on the phone. Usually it only happens when you upload right from the phone though. Odd that it happened from the computer. Neutral

My old phone would do this randomly when uploading but new one's beene fine apparently

and wow never seen a setup like this

Fixed Cool

Yeah odd set up but it's pretty clean looking. It would look better if the signals matched the "thing" though lol.

thanks for explaining why the pic ended up sideways....but I don't get the double comment thing. why?

and naturally im not quite sold on this setup since I don't like shoeboxes that much. there's a lot of flat area for it to catch the wind as well lol...in fact in downtown the light poles are varied but theres a lot of bronze poles with floodlight fixtures aimed down and it looks bad to me but that's just my opinion.

Have you seen the traffic signals in downtown Dallas that have three separate housings for each module put next to each other? Me and my friend spotted those and we thought they were interesting.

like stated I first saw this kind of setup in downtown dallas in 2004,i was last in downtown dallas in 2010 and was focusing more on older stuff at the time so.

New York City adopted this set-up in the late 1970s, and this was in use in some areas. Some still remain intact, while others have been long removed from service.
