new warehouse We outgrew the old one in a year which is our first location in Michigan. .Needless to say we have been really busy and business has been excellent since opening. .new shop is like 8x the size and lit with 20 6xF32T8 highbays..a few had dead lamps but I changed them already..one running 24/7 had only 2 lamps working and looked near EOL (Phllips TL850/ALTO2) The past few days has been spent moving the material and furniture which was hard work! Best part is all our trucks fit inside the bay..we have 2 double wide doors Bucket truck in the back is what I usually use, I have been at our location the longest The shelves were bought from Sylvania when they got out of the lighting services division and auctioned off their equipment. .we also bought an identical bucket to the one I drive Keywords: Lit_Lighting

Nice! Looks like you've got plenty of light to see by in there! You could probably get away with taking out a pair of lamps in each fixture and still have plenty of light and save some money too. Wow your old warehouse must've been pretty tiny because even this isn't that big! Judging by the spacing of the lights, that warehouse is probably the size of the main room in my school's gymnasium (the gym is a separate building with a few rooms). My gym has 20 lights in the main "Gym A" too. My elementary school had 30 lights (5X6) but i think they're just spaced closer together since i remember it beeing really bright in there. That was back when the gym had glass GE 18" MH highbays...

Actually we have most of the lights off during the day and only in the morning when we're loading up material they're all on..the one in the center runs 24/7.

Nice warehouse space and bucket trucks! Is the bucket truck you use have the 6.7L Cummins diesel in it?

Thanks and yep! It's got a good amount of power being a turbo diesel...highway is about 10 MPG and city is 6-7

ahh i see. At least thay're not those stupid motion sensor things. My school gym and construction shop has motion sensor 6-lamp highbays and they shut off when no ones under them and it's so annoying lol. If we have a lecture in the shop the lights all shut off around us and it's annoying.

Ugg I hate motion sensors! If we had them in our shop I'm sure one of us would have bypassed it already Laughing

That's not bad mileage considering the weight of the utility body with the boom and bucket plus all the gear/tools.Unfortunately the newer diesels are getting less mileage, instead of better mileage compared to the older diesels due to all the emissions stuff like the particulate filter. The exhaust filter (DPF) requires the addition of diesel exhaust fluid in a separate tank which is injected into the hot filter to burn out the soot after driving a certain amount of miles.

Yeah I hate EPA regulations on that stuff..The exhaust filter has gotten plugged twice on this since I've been driving it, the only way to clear it without taking it into the shop is to drive on the highway for a while and downshift so the RPM is higher which I guess gets the crap built up burned out! Doesn't help idling with the PTO on for extended amounts of time
As for DEF fluid it uses about a gallon every week or so..if you look at the ingredients its"pig urea" basically pig piss Laughing Confused

Yeah pig piss Laughing I hate the EPA stuff as well, the diesels in the last 10 years are much cleaner even without all the emissions junk, it actually causes fuel consumption to go up instead of being more efficient and can cause engine damage. I got rid of the DPF on my 6.4L once my warranty was up and my mileage and power is much better. On the 2008 to 2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstrokes, diesel was actually injected into the exhaust system when the DPF needed cleaning further reducing economy Rolling Eyes shooting heat and flame through the turbos to clean the DPF caused oil seal failure of the turbos then it would start sucking out all the engine oil into the exhaust system Shocked then plugging up the DPF completely, if the owner doesn't notice the engine oil going down soon enough then the engine is toast. The turbos (dual sequential) in mine were replaced at only 22,000 miles,new ones are worth about $3000.00 luckily it was covered under warranty.

Yeah I'd have done the same, my ford taurus had the catylyst get plugged so I had it gutted!
wow that's crazy! Great they replaced it under warranty though
