Having fun with a worn out 250W metal halide lamp!
It's been a while since a new selection of old lamps was sitting in a dusty corner (since september!), so I finally decided to take a few home.

In the lot is this 250W metal halide lamp. Which manufacturer? The answer is hidden somewhere in the pic! ^__^

Unlike my other one which is completely dead, this one still starts with a BBQ ignitor and a few bumps XD. Once both electrodes are hot (i.e. produce thermionic emission) the arc stabilizes and the lamp partly warms up. It doesn't stay on more than ~ 35 sec though.

I am making a video of the voltage my clamp meter read across the lamp during the time it's warming up, very interesting!
